When their experiments at quick enlightenment failed, Storlie retreated to the Colorado wilderness for what was to become one of the first experiences of wild nature that would become the touchstones of his life, putting its sometimes confusing events into their proper perspective: in the wilderness he understood the importance of meditation practice.
